The Kreter Foundation supports the German National Team on the road to 2026 World Cup

The Kreter Foundation has been presented as the official partner of the German National Amputee Football Team. The collaboration was officially announced at the league final at the Mommsenstation in Berlin. The support of the Kreter Foundation extends to covering total travel expenses of the 20-plus member German delegation to the 2026 World Cup, which is expected to take place in Costa Rica in Central America. In addition to various equipment costs, that are essential for the teams game performance. The German National Team had previously qualified for a title match with a strong seventh place at the European Championships.

For the German National Amputee Football Team , this foundation is an absolute dream partner for the organisation because with this project, they can help to fulfill the dreams of extraordinary sportsmen. “We are delighted to provide the backing to enable the National Team to participate in the World Cup,’ said Silke Kreter. As a visitor to the league final, the Vice President of the Kreter Foundation was absolutely impressed by all the performances of the players, and personally moved by their stories.

Christian Heintz, Managing Director of the umbrella organisation for amputee football in Germany and himself a national player, spoke of a ‘milestone’ for his sport when the partnership was announced: ‘We are extremely grateful for the support of the Kreter Foundation, because it safeguards our participation in the World Cup. This will be a huge incentive for the current players and at the same time the ideal motivation to attract new footballers in Germany to our fantastic sport.’

In a group photo with Silke Kreter and a large representation of the current national team, including Bundesliga top scorer Majed Sajid (Hamburger SV), the German national jerseys were presented with the Kreter Foundation logo. Nicola Roos from the new German champions Mainz 05 is one of the team's current national players and a young woman. Christian Heintz presented Silke Kreter with a very special shirt printed with the inscription ‘2026’ for the year of the World Cup in gratitude for the Kreter Foundation's commitment.
